Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 21 July 2026.
1. Introduction
Ratevert.com (“we," "us," or "our") operates this website (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit our Service. We are committed to safeguarding your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
By using the Service, you consent to the information practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with these practices, please do not use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
a) Automatically Collected Information
When you visit the Service, limited technical and usage information may be collected by our analytics and infrastructure providers. Ratevert uses Cloudflare Web Analytics as a privacy-focused traffic and performance baseline, and Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for product and page-view measurement when a GA4 web stream is configured.
- Pages visited, navigation events, referring pages, and visit timing.
- Browser, device, and operating-system signals used for aggregated reporting.
- Performance signals such as page-load and Core Web Vitals measurements through Cloudflare Web Analytics.
- Aggregated visit, page-load, and product-usage statistics.
Analytics payloads do not include Clerk user IDs, account email addresses, Stripe or billing data, Google Sheets contents, spreadsheet connection codes, or other account-specific records. Query strings are removed from tracked page paths and locations before they are sent to GA4.
b) No Personal Information Required
This Service does not require you to create an account or provide personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number to use the core functionality.
c) Account and Billing Information
If you create an account, save flows, start checkout, manage billing, or contact support, we and our service providers may process information needed to provide those features, such as your account email address, authentication identifiers, billing plan, subscription status, checkout session details, customer support messages, and Stripe billing references. Ratevert does not store full payment card numbers.
d) Google Sheets Add-on Information
If you use Ratevert Converter for Google Sheets, formula inputs such as amount, source asset, target asset, search text, and market filter are sent to Ratevert API endpoints to return conversion and search results. The add-on uses a pseudonymous, one-way hashed per-spreadsheet identifier for fair-use limits. Ratevert does not request Gmail, Calendar, Docs, full Drive access, or broad spreadsheet access for this add-on.
3. Google Workspace API User Data
a) Data Access
Ratevert Converter works only in the current Google spreadsheet. It processes the formula arguments or menu action that the user deliberately invokes, including amounts, source and target asset identifiers, search text, and market filters. User-requested menu actions may create or update a “Ratevert demo” or “Ratevert account” sheet inside that same spreadsheet.
The add-on reads the current spreadsheet identifier only inside Google Apps Script to derive a one-way hashed per-spreadsheet identifier. The raw spreadsheet identifier is not sent to or stored by Ratevert. Ratevert applies an additional one-way hash before storing quota counters. Ratevert does not read unrelated cells, other spreadsheets, or other files in Google Drive.
Google Workspace Marketplace may display openid, userinfo.email, or userinfo.profile identity permissions in the consent summary. Ratevert add-on code does not read, transmit, or store the user's Google email address or Google profile information.
b) Data Use and Storage
Formula inputs and search text are used only to calculate and return the conversion, rate, or asset-search result requested by the user. Ratevert does not persist those inputs or search text in its database or analytics. Google Apps Script may temporarily cache returned conversion results for up to 60 seconds and search results for up to 5 minutes to improve spreadsheet performance.
Ratevert stores only one-way hashed spreadsheet-derived identifiers and aggregate request counts for fair-use and abuse prevention. If a user explicitly connects a Ratevert account, Apps Script stores the Ratevert access token in that user's Apps Script user properties, while Ratevert stores only a one-way hash of the token and the minimum account association needed to apply plan limits.
c) Data Transfer and Protection
Requested formula and search inputs are transmitted over HTTPS to Ratevert API endpoints through Cloudflare, which provides network delivery and security. Ratevert does not send Google Workspace data to analytics providers, advertisers, data brokers, lenders, or AI/ML services. Access is limited to the systems needed to provide and secure the user-requested add-on features. Ratevert protects stored identifiers and tokens with one-way hashing, server-side access controls, request validation, and rate limits.
d) Retention and Deletion
- Formula inputs and search text are not retained after the request completes.
- Burst-limit records are deleted after 24 hours, and daily quota records are deleted after 30 days by scheduled cleanup.
- Expired pending account connections are deleted within 24 hours after expiry.
- Approved Ratevert account connections remain until the user disconnects the add-on or deletes the Ratevert account.
- Disconnecting deletes the server connection record and clears the related Apps Script user properties. Deleting a Ratevert account deletes its Sheets connection records.
Users can disconnect through Ratevert → Disconnect account in Google Sheets, delete their Ratevert account from the Ratevert account page, or contact Ratevert to request access or deletion.
e) Google Limited Use
Ratevert does not sell Google Workspace data, use it for advertising or credit decisions, transfer it to data brokers, or use it for any purpose unrelated to the user-facing add-on functionality and security. Ratevert does not use raw, derived, aggregated, or anonymized Google Workspace data to develop, improve, or train AI/ML models, and does not transfer that data to third-party services that train AI/ML models.
Ratevert's use of information received from Google Workspace APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
4. How We Use Information
The automatically collected information is used for the following purposes:
- To operate and maintain the Service.
- To monitor and analyze usage patterns and trends.
- To detect and prevent security threats, fraud, or abuse.
- To improve the Service's performance and user experience.
- To generate aggregated, anonymized statistics.
- To create and manage Ratevert accounts, saved flows, paid plan access, subscription status, customer support, refunds, cancellations, and billing records.
- To provide Google Sheets add-on conversion and search results, enforce free fair-use limits, and prevent abuse of the add-on API.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
We engage third-party companies to facilitate the Service. Currently, we use:
- Cloudflare - Provides hosting, content delivery network (CDN), security protection, and Cloudflare Web Analytics. The Web Analytics beacon is configured for Ratevert separately from any other website property. Cloudflare may collect and process technical visitor and performance data as described in its own privacy policy (https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/).
- Google Analytics 4 - Provides aggregated page-view, navigation, browser, device, and session measurement for Ratevert when the production GA4 Measurement ID is configured. Ratevert does not send account, billing, spreadsheet, or connection-code data to GA4.
- Clerk - Provides account authentication and account management services for users who sign in or create a Ratevert account.
- Stripe - Provides secure checkout, payment processing, subscriptions, customer portal, invoices, receipts, refund, and dispute handling services for paid Ratevert plans.
These third parties have access to certain visitor, account, or billing information only to perform specific tasks on our behalf or as independent service providers under their own terms and privacy policies.
Future Advertising: We may introduce advertising on the Service in the future. If we do, advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to deliver relevant ads. We will update this policy if that changes.
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Cloudflare Web Analytics uses a small browser beacon to measure page loads, navigation, and performance. It is configured without Ratevert user IDs and does not require analytics cookies or browser local storage for its Web Analytics measurements. GA4 may use first-party analytics cookies or similar browser, device, and session signals depending on the property configuration, browser settings, and applicable controls.
- Understand aggregated traffic and page navigation.
- Measure product interactions and page performance.
- Detect duplicate or invalid measurement signals.
Most browsers allow you to control cookies and related browser storage through their settings. Disabling those controls may affect analytics measurement but does not prevent the public converter from working.
7. Data Storage and Retention
Core converter usage does not require an account. If you create an account or buy a paid plan, account, saved-flow, billing, support, refund, cancellation, and dispute records may be retained for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and maintain accurate business records. Cloudflare, Google Analytics, Clerk, Stripe, and other service providers may retain data according to their own policies.
8. Data Security
We implement commercially reasonable security measures to protect the Service. However, please understand that:
- No method of internet transmission is 100% secure.
- We cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted through the Service.
- You use the Service at your own risk.
9. Links to External Websites
The Service may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these external sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any websites you visit through links on our Service.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will delete it immediately. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
